welcome to the Minsterley Parish Council website

big conversation

You may now be aware of the Big Conversation recently launched by Shropshire Council.

Like all local authorities, the council are faced with the need to make further substantial savings in the coming years due to continuous Government cuts. In a few years’ time, Shropshire Council will have less than one quarter of the money that now funds 150+ council services which means the local authority will have to stop delivering some services and they need your help to tell them which are important to you, and what you can do to help and make the remaining resources they have, go further.

Within just a week, we’ve had an amazing response, over 980 people have filled in our online survey or emailed us with their comments and suggestions have been emailed in. The Big Conversations has taken place with Business Ambassadors, with the Voluntary Community Sector (VCS) at their Shout About Social Value event, and Shrewsbury Local Joint Committee (LJC) to name but a few.

We would like to thank those who have helped to promote the Big Conversation so far, your support is really appreciated.

We want to continue to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the conversation and kindly ask if you will continue to encourage local communities to get involved.

How can you help?

• We need you to help raise awareness of the Big Conversation and encourage people to take part now by completing the Big Conversation survey online, or via the telephone or by requesting a paper copy of the survey.

• For those who haven’t received any information or wish to help promote the campaign to their audiences we’ve attached the current press release for you to cascade via your communication channels.
