Minsterley Bridge
As we are all aware, the long awaited work on Minsterley Bridge is due to commence in February 2010. In order that residents get as much information as possible, there will be an exhibition in the Parish Hall on Tuesday 15 September from 9am to 9pm; this will give everyone who is interested an opportunity to see exactly what the work entails.
During the work, it is inevitable that it will cause inconvenience to so many people, to put it mildly! However, by going to the exhibition, you will learn first hand what the contractors are going to do.
This has been an ongoing problem for so many years; as clerk to the council, I was looking through some 'old' minutes from 2002 and note that discussions were going on then! The structure dates back to 1909 and is an early example of the use of reinforced concrete.However as we all know,the 'Minsterley Bridge Problem' goes back many years.
