DOG FOULING

There have been further complaints about dog fouling both in the village and also agricultural land. The council would like to point out that dog faeces can be harmful to both children and animals, COULD YOU PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG

Smart Water

There is a movement to develop the local villages as smart water villages, this would require using smart water to identify your goods so that in the event of a crime they can be located and returned, this sometimes reduces crime in a given area. There is a cost, £60 but if a hoile village takes up the offer it is substantially reduced.... more

School places issue

The Parish Council have approached Shropshire Council for their suggestions to the problem of limited available numbers at the village school being made worse by any future house building in the village. Shropshire education and planning said they are aware of the issue and will deal with as it arises, it has been placed in the Minsterley place plan.

Applications for the new grant scheme, Community Activity Fund, will begin January 2015. The fund has been set up to assist with ideas which are for the sole purpose of benefitting children and/or young people during a school holiday period and who live in Shropshire.... more


Light Up

‘Lighten up Campaign’​ ​ ​ West Mercia Police is encouraging residents to take a few simple steps to keep their homes safe and secure, particularly during the darker months.​ ​ The message comes from West Mercia Police as part of its ‘Lighten up’ campaign, which reminds people that their home is less likely to be burgled if it appears occupied. ​ Overall numbers of burglaries in West Mercia decreased by 9% in the period 2012-2013, and year to date figures for 2014 show a further decrease of 7% compared to the same period last year (April to September 2013), however over the last five years a peak in burglaries has been observed in October and November.... more


Shropshire Women & Childrens Centre

Shropshire Women and Children’s Centre, will open at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford on 29 and 30 September, When it opens at the end of September, the Shropshire Women and Children’s Centre will be the main inpatient facility providing care for women and children for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales. The centre will be for: Women who need a consultant-led birth Gynaecology services where you have to stay overnight Children who need to stay overnight Children’s Oncology and Haematology care Babies who need intensive and special care Part of the building is already being used, as the Children’s Ward at the Princess Royal Hospital moved from the first floor of the hospital down into its former location on the ground floor, which has been refurbished and is now part of the new centre.... more

POLICE _ COURIER SCAM

Elderly residents are being warned about a phone fraud where victims are being duped out of cash by people posing as police. West Mercia and Warwickshire Police have recorded 70 of these offences across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shrophire and Warwickshire since March this year with unsuspecting victims falling for the scam.... more

Parishioners are reminded that they should phone 101 to report anti-social behaviour as the more incidents reported will ensure action is taken. In the case of incidents involving cars please note and report the vehicle registration numbers if possible.... more


Community Alcohol Partnership

The partnership have asked that if residents see alcohol related incidents they log them with the police by calling 101. The issues can then be assessed and monitored.
